New Zealand soprano Libby Montgomery, based in the United Kingdom, is a recent graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, where she completed her postgraduate studies with Distinction, and now continues advanced operatic training under Mary Plazas. Recognised for her “sunny lyricism” (The Spectator), she has performed roles including Ninette (L’amour des trois oranges), Tina (Flight), and Cupid (Orpheus in the Underworld), with upcoming appearances as Grace Shaw in the RNCM Community Opera The Water Mark. In the competition scene, Libby was the winner of the Ronald Dellow Vocal Recital Competition (2024) and a finalist in the Becroft Aria Competition. Equally at home on the concert platform, she has performed with leading ensembles in New Zealand and the UK, with repertoire spanning from Bach and Vivaldi to Britten, and continues to establish herself as a versatile and engaging young artist.

Libby is finishing off her last year of conservatoire study with a pogramme of Mozart, Strauss, Bridge, Hageman, and Anthony Ritchie - a composer from her home, New Zealand.
